Biography

• Elected in 2018
• Graduate of Carroll High School and Pan American College in Edinburg
• Earned a master’s degree in education from University of Texas-Pan American
• Taught and coached at Tom Browne Middle School, Miller and Moody High Schools
• Served as head baseball coach at Texas Southmost College in Brownsville and Laredo Junior College
• Taught and coached baseball at Moody High School
• Initiated baseball programs at Texas A&M University-Kingsville and at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi
• Served on the Corpus Christi Independent School District Board of Trustees
• Member of the Moody High School Hall of Fame (2000), Rio Grande Valley Sports Hall of Fame (2009), Texas A&M-Kingsville Javelina Hall of Fame (2013) and Leo Najo Sports Hall of Fame (1980)
• Received the 10th Lifetime Achievement Award for South Texas Winter Baseball
