On April 14, 2025, Del Mar College and South Texas Family Planning & Health Care representatives announced a “joint health venture” and provided tours of the organization’s health care clinic on wheels, which is a 40-foot trailer featuring equipment and services that you can find in a regular doctor’s office. The partnership will bring health care services to students on all three of the college’s campuses––Heritage, Windward and Oso Creek––on a scheduled monthly basis.

DMC Spring 2025 Commencement Ceremony - 5:16Title:Checking in with Foghorn alumnus Raul Alonzo
Raul Alonzo was an award-winning Foghorn staffer while he was a student at Del Mar College. His time on student newspapers both at DMC and at TAMU-CC have served him well – he would go on to work for the Corpus Christi Caller-Times and Gateway Media while wrapping up work on a bachelor’s degree in media arts at the university. Today, he’s a Digital Producer for the Texas Standard weekday radio news magazine, which airs on National Public Radio stations across the Lone Star State.College Relations staff caught up with Alonzo when he was invited to return to campus in March 2025 to give a talk on a project that began during his days as a Foghorn reporter.
