Fans of K-Pop from around the Coastal Bend gathered at Emerald Beach Hotel for “Euphoria: A K-Pop Exhibition” hosted by KP Vibes Entertainment in collaboration with the Texas State Museum of Asian Cultures and Education.

The exhibition featured two rounds of dance plays, a lion dance performance, a performance by the Corpus Christi Taiko Club, and finally, a dance competition. Following those exhibitions, attendees enjoyed a concert featuring performances by Ted Park, Alan Z, and LUC ID.

“As a Korean-American, it’s very inspiring and motivating to see Korean music and entertainment being enjoyed worldwide, and being produced in such high quality,” said performer Ted Park. The Wisconsin native got started in music at a young age and it helped him with some tough times in his life. He finds the genre inspiring, stating, “K-pop is a Korean music being released in its highest form in terms of production values, visuals, and songwriting.”

President and founder of KP Vibes Entertainment Vivian Castaneda says the idea for the exhibition started with the idea to hold a K-Pop event in their own homes, and to emphasize the importance of Asian cultures in the Coastal Bend. The April 19 event was the second year of hosting this kind of event, with the first being held at the Texas State Museum of Asian Cultures and Education last October.
