Del Mar College’s Oso Creek Campus has brought back the popular culinary classes called “Secrets of the Chef!” during the 2025 Spring semester.
According to Franny Jackson, Program Manager for Continuing Education, these classes are a collection of favorites from the Fall semester but also include new styles of cooking suggested by students. The classes are taught by former Del Mar students and are open to the general public.
“Having these culinary classes at the new campus and the culinary part of that campus, it’s giving the community the opportunity of what Del Mar has to offer.”
“Our classes are one-day, 4-hour classes to learn how to cook some things that interact with family night, date night, or just to learn something new.”
Classes will consist of learning how to cook or bake a variety of desserts and treats, sushi, soups and salads, and more. Classes are scheduled for Feb. 21 and 22; March 7, 22 and 28; April 5, 11, 19 and 25; May 3 and 9. Friday classes are from 5-9 p.m. and Saturday classes are from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The culinary courses are $60, and supplies are included. Each class is limited to 12 people and children must be accompanied by an adult.
