New Continuing Education grant opportunity for Building Construction Trades

Del Mar College’s Continuing Education department has begun offering a building construction trades grant to anyone looking to boost their skills. The grant, which started in August 2024, will continue to be available through June 2026. The classes are four weeks long, offered both on weekends and evenings. Del Mar College’s Continuing Education department has begun offering a building construction trades grant to anyone looking to boost their skills.

The grant, which started in August 2024, will continue to be available through June 2026. The classes are four weeks long, offered both on weekends and evenings. This grant offers classes in six different trades: carpentry, house wiring, cabinetry, plumbing, print reading and lastly trim and stairs. The classes provide the students a practical experience for various construction trades and are taught by experienced Del Mar College professors. They provide hands-on learning, where students will be able to use hand and power tools in different trade classes. All classes are tailored toward homeowners and landlords who are interested in expanding their skill sets and want to learn the basic knowledge of different construction disciplines. Upon finishing each four-week course, students will get more information about jobs and opportunities outside the classroom.
