Of course, there’s also the upcoming Monster & Zombie Walk, a one-mile walk/run being held at the Windward Campus Dome Building on Friday, Oct. 25 at 6:30 p.m.

“We’re happy to host the second annual Zombie Walk in conjunction with Viking Fest at Windward Campus,” said Carla Gamez-Vela, intramural sports director.

Prizes for the Zombie Walk include free T-shirts for the first 50 participants to finish. Onsite registration starts at 6 p.m. and don’t forget to wear a costume.

While they may have already passed, the previous sports tournaments are also important for those who wish to sign up for them at a later date.

Previous events included the 3v3 Basketball League which ran from Sep. 9 to Sep. 23. As well as the ultimate frisbee tournament held on Sep. 12.

There was also the 7v7 Flag Football Tournament which began on Sep. 25 and concluded on Oct. 2, with the Chargers being the winners.

The Chargers are team captain Destin Gonzalez, Raul Martinez, Joe San Miguel, Nico Rodriguez, Marley Bryant and Juan “JP” Moreno. Each member received a custom football ring for their victory.

In addition to the tournaments, the Del Mar Intramurals also have various athletic classes such as Zumba on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:15 to 6:15 p.m., Water Fitness on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11 a.m. to noon, and Yoga every Friday from 1- 2 p.m.

“We want to invite everyone to come out and participate,” said Vela. “Everyone in the Del Mar community.”
