Wake up your body and mind with this energizing yoga routine
We often associate yoga with calming down, relaxing, and maybe even getting ready for bed after a long day of class, but did you know that yoga can also be a great way to energize your mind and body? Performing a vinyasa-style yoga practice that moves swiftly between poses can raise your heart rate, causing increased circulation of blood to your muscles and brain. This increased blood flow delivers vital nutrients to your whole body, providing you with the energy you need to take on your busy day.
If you’re in the mood for a gentle cardio workout or need to shake off the afternoon slump, jump into this short, energizing yoga practice that will get your blood pumping and help you be more alert (especially if you need to get to class in an hour).
Always consult your health care provider before beginning any new exercise program. If you have any pain with the exercises, stop and consult your health care provider before proceeding.
